Creating Your Health

Welcome to Creating Your Health, my blog to post information on how you can create the health you deserve. My approach as a licensed Creative Arts Therapist & Mental Health Counselor is a holistic one, embracing the mind, body, and spirit connection and is deeply grounded in psychological theory and orientation. Use of the arts: dance, music, art, drama, poetry, allows for access to the unconscious realm. Simply put, Change takes place first in the Imaginal Realm. Creating Your Health Bookclub

You're invited:
Starting Sunday, April 10th I'm starting the
"Creating Your Health Bookclub"
!

and I would love for you to join me!

What?
The point of the book club is to enhance our friendships,share our views, participate in discussions on the chosen book about some aspect of creating Health! Books will be chosen from any of the following Creating Your Health Domains: Physical Health; Mental/emotional Health; Spiritual Health; Environmental Health; Creating a healthy Career/healthy use of Leisure time; and Relationship Health.

Why a book club?
Because, Together we are Better! Creating Health is so much more fun when you are doing it with like-minded people! I'm sure the CYH BookClub will generate some positive energy, and provide for some interesting discussions. My intention is to share resources, and support one another as we move toward creating the healthy lives we desire and deserve.

What book will we be reading?
Our first book will be, "The Healthy Home" by Dr. Myron Wentz and Dave Wentz.
It just came out on March 22, and both Dr. Wentz and Dave are currently doing a North American Book Tour that began March 25 in Vancouver, BC. They are in Seattle on March 28; and then onward for several stops in California. For more information about the tour, go to www.myhealthyhome.com

Will you always be making the book selections?
Please send me your suggestions for our next book, and I will be making a selection based on those I receive, as long as it addresses the aspect of health that we will focus on for that time. For example, the "Healthy Home" is about creating a healthy environment; Our next book will be a selection related to creating a healthy work life. Where w
ill we meet?
We will be virtually meeting in a secret closed group on facebook. There you will be able to discuss the various sections of the book, share links, photos, and I am really hopeful that you will feel free to post some videos, too as you begin to use the simple solutions in the book to create a healthy home! You can show us your process, with pictures, videos, blog posts, journal entries, etc.

I want to join, what kind of commitment is required?
For this book, we will take 5 weeks. We will break it down like the table of contents does:

Chapter 2: The Body Electric!
Chapter 3: Sleepytime

2. Week 2 Bathroom
Chapter 4: Let's Get Personal
Chapter 5: Bright, White, and Pearly
Chapter 6: Don't Be a Dope

3. Week 3 Kitchen
Chapter 7: For the Love of Food
Chapter 8: Let's Get Cooking
Chapter 9: Drink Up!

4. Week 4 Living Areas
Chapter 10: Clean Living
Chapter 11: High Tech, High Risk

5. Week 5 Garage and Yard
Chapter 12: Gremlins in the Garage
Chapter 13: Going Green in Your Yard


If I join, what do I get?

You get access to our secret facebook group.

You'll be part of an online community supporting one another.

You can post as often as you'd like, or not at all, if you prefer to just follow along. I will be sharing my posts, and I will be posting a weekly email just to group members.

Weekly emails will include: Product Recommendations. Support. Encouragement. Questions to consider. Websites. Additional Resources. Inspiration. Guidance.

I'd love to see your pictures and videos.

This book is a "how-to" book; I'm visualizing before/after type pics. and vids.

There are several quizzes to assess your home, and simple solutions offered to create a healthy home.

You also have email access to me for questions, to share epiphanies, to order recommended products etc.

I'm soooo busy, what if I don't get a chance to do the reading?
Don't you worry... I know how busy we all are. Skip around if you need to; The group will be up for two weeks following our last chapter discussions.
You can join the club for one book, and skip a book, and then re-join if you are interested in only some of the selections.

Ok, sounds great, how do I join? Is there a membership fee?

Registration begins April 1.
There is a 20$ fee, .....yep, that's right! I'm keeping this affordable because I want interested folks to be able to participate fully.
Since this is our first book, I am keeping this one small. 25 - 30 people limit.
After this first group, I've have a better idea of how big a group we can have and still keep that small community feeling!
